Notice a real need
The idea started with a problem Sloane recognized in everyday life—not something invented just for an assignment.
Water Pet began with a summer-camp assignment, a nine-year-old entrepreneur, and an everyday moment with the family dog.
When nine-year-old Sloane Richmond enrolled in an entrepreneurship course during summer camp, she and her classmates were given a challenge: create a business or product that solved a real need.
Her first thought was a plant-watering system. It was practical, useful, and a good beginning—but the idea that would become Water Pet had not arrived yet.
That night, Sloane told her parents and brother about the class project. Then she moved on to one of her regular chores: refilling the water bowl for the family dog, Heidi.
As she replenished the bowl, Sloane commented on Heidi’s bad breath. Suddenly, the problem and a possible solution were sitting right in front of her. Pets already drink water every day—could their water become an easier way to support fresher breath and everyday dental wellness?
“What if Heidi’s water could help make her breath better?
The question that inspired Water Pet
What began as a classroom exercise grew into a family-supported business idea built around curiosity, responsibility, and a love of pets.
The idea started with a problem Sloane recognized in everyday life—not something invented just for an assignment.
Water Pet is being developed around a routine pets already have: drinking fresh water from their bowl.
The product will launch only after its ingredients, directions, testing, and claims are carefully reviewed.
Sloane is continuing to learn what it takes to turn an idea into a thoughtful, trustworthy product for pet families.
